Why I Build Things

There's something about starting with nothing and ending with something that keeps pulling me back to a keyboard. Not because I have to -- because I can't not.

Most of what I make doesn't survive past the weekend. That's fine. The point was never the artifact. It's the act of reaching for an idea and watching it take shape under your fingers, one line at a time.

I think the best engineers I've met share this one trait: they're restless. Not anxious -- just unwilling to leave things as they found them. A rough edge is an invitation. A missing feature is a dare.

Anyway. That's why I'm here. That's why this site exists. Not to impress anyone, but because building things is the closest I get to thinking clearly.
